Montgomery Players Endure After 45 Years Onstage Gaithersburg
The Montgomery Players, a Gaithersburg amateur theatre group, traces its 45 year history from a Chevy Chase start to Quince Orchard Road. Fay Jacobs, executive producer, recalls early founders Jane Plummer Rice and Rita Lowe remaining active while directing The Philadelphia Story opening May 24. The troupe grew from a junior high auditorium to Inverness Playhouse, even converting a picnic shed into a theatre. They saved $50,000 after a decade at Inverness.
