Frederick County Approves Tower Moratorium

Frederick County commissioners adopt a six month moratorium on new communications towers, effective May 28, to allow time for updated zoning regulations. The move, opposed by Walkersville residents and supported by planning officials, keeps towers out of the historic district and requires setbacks and removal of unused towers. A July 20 public hearing will consider the zoning amendment, with existing towers allowed to remain.
