Leave your car home one day a week Bardin says
Washington AP Energy official David J Bardin head of the Economic Regulatory Administration tells Congress that Americans should leave cars home one day a week to ease gasoline shortages likely through the summer of 1980. He stops short of backing mandatory legislation and urges carpooling public transit and combined errands while cautioning against a total shutdown. He expects shortages to continue into October and recur in the summer of 1980.
