Police questioned a man about 30 picked up near Morgantown after interrogating him all night but he offered no admissions. A tentative ID of the body as a Washington waitress was exploded. The waitress’s former employer said she quit two months ago with no explanation. Fingerprints from an Alcoholic Beverage Control Board in Washington connected to the restaurant showed the prints did not match. The man was arrested after his landlady grew suspicious. A batch of photos, a girdle, a scarf and love letters were shown to the questioning team. The woman’s body was found nude and battered along the Potomac River near Mianeek across from Maryland after being strangled with a rope and dumped from an embankment at a lovers’ lane.
