Speakers include Clarence Zarfoss of Western Maryland Railway at Frederick High on June 3, Herman Hoopes of Brandt Cabinet Works at Brunswick High on June 6, Dr. Andrew G. Truxal of Hood College at several schools, and Dr. Edwin W. Sponseller at Walkersville. Eight Alarm Fire Destroys Baltimore Lumber Yard
An eight alarm blaze at a block long lumber yard and mill plant in Baltimore forced 130 residents from homes. No injuries occurred and the fire, visible for miles, was controlled by 10 25 p m. About 8 000 spectators watched as flames burned through the yard, with cause still unknown and insurance covering losses. Julius Zulver, son of the owner, did not estimate damages. Nearby residents aided with hoses to protect homes. The Walbrook Mill and Lumber Co suffered a seven alarm blaze in 1986.

Maryland Court Upholds Two Percent Vehicle Tax
The Maryland two per cent motor vehicle tax on original title certificates was upheld by the Maryland Supreme Court in a 6-2 decision led by Justice Black. 50 Passengers Shaken In Baltimore Rail Crash
Fifty passengers aboard the Baltimore and Ohio Metropolitan Special were shaken when derailed freight cars struck a passing train near Camden station. No injuries reported. The two sleeping cars suffered minor damage as debris tore up 1,000 feet of track. The train continued to Washington after a brief delay. Weather followed with high streams after 1.62 inches of rain, possible showers later but cooler nights in the forties.

Washington May 16 district court found the Maryland Virginia Milk Producers Association and several area dairies guilty of conspiring to fix prices. The Richfield Dairy Lucerne Milk Co. and secretary treasurer Bruce B Derrigh were convicted while Alexandria and Harvey dairies were acquitted. Two Are Fined In Assault And Battery Case
Einier S. Wiles and Sylvester R. Wiles tenants on the Traut farm at Frederick Junction were found guilty of assault and battery on Charles J. Burger Jr. 430 South Market Street before Magistrate Manuel M. Weinberg in Peoples Court. Each paid a fine and costs of 26.50. The incident occurred May 14. Burger claimed the defendants beat him while he was closing a gate to the field on the farm. The Wiles argued Burger worsened the situation by wanting settlement rather than arrest for trespass. In a traffic hearing, Benjamin C. Adams was acquitted of exceeding the speed limit. Collateral forfeitures were imposed on several individuals for tag and speeding violations. Lt. Walter K. May and Trooper Tucker made the arrests.
