Plans for a new Middletown Valley school propose a combined middle and high school with 400 student capacity, later expanding to include seventh graders. GAR Past Commander Dies At 104 In Ripley New York
Robert M. Rownd 104 year old past commander of the Grand Army of the Republic died today in Ripley New York after a long illness. Born October 22 1844 in Sarahsville Ohio he served two terms as national GAR commander first in 1939 and again in 1947. He is survived in New York state by James A Hard 107 of Rochester as the lone other GAR member. The nation has about 19 remaining GAR members.
