Electric dredges powered by generators rule the sea
Four new clean going dredges built by the United States Engineers Corps are said to be the only human habitats where fire is not used since civilization began. Each vessel 298 feet long and propelled by electricity from locomotive-like generators. Control from the bridge, no engine-room reference. Fifty six electric injectors operate the dredging gear and handle tasks from weighing anchors to driving the electric fan.
