Hood College to Graduates Largest Class Sets June 11
Eighty seven girls including nine from Frederick will receive diplomas at Hood College graduation on June 1 in a class noted as the largest in the college’s history. Distinguished speakers will include Dr. Hugh Black and Rev. Henri L. G. Kieffer. The Frederick seniors listed include Emily Apple and Ruth Michael among many others from Maryland and neighboring states.

Drastic Bill to End to Rail Strikes
Washington May 16 A railroad strike or lockout threatening a transportation emergency would automatically lead the government to file suit for receivership of the affected roads. The Howell Barkley bill would abolish the Railroad Labor Board and set up adjusted tribunals with road and worker representation. A similar House measure is set for early next week. The Senate subcommittee amendment directs the Attorney General to seek receivership of an independent manager if a strike threatens a national crisis.

Man Fined for East Fourth Street Accident
Roy C. Adkins about 30 of Middleton was freed after paying more than 314 in fines and costs from a crash that injured Harry Waldschmidt, son of Mrs Mildred Waldschmidt, on East Fourth street. Foran Arrested in Baltimore Jewelers Murder
Philadelphia, May 10. Thomas Foran, 17, was arrested as he was about to enter his home on a charge of being implicated in the killing of a Baltimore jeweler during a robber of his store on Tuesday. He was arrested at the request of the Baltimore police.

Assault and Battery Case Against Hale in Police Court

Judge Urner Likely Appointed to Succeed Himself
Frederick and Montgomery County bar associations urged Governor Ritchie to appoint Chief Judge Urner to the Sixth Judicial Circuit. Urner would fill the post from December 24 1924 until the 1926 election, with a term expiring in December 1925 but no election held until 1926.
