Campaign to abolish county agent post gains petitions
A movement opposing the county agent appointment to succeed P A Hauver collected petitions from farmers along Cemetery pike, Carton Manor, and Walkersville urging no new agent. They argue roads are in need of urgent repair, claim the proposed agent salary is 4600 dollars with a clerk at 1000, and that abolishing the office would save 5000 annually for road work.
