Robbers stole about $1100 in valuables from a beach front hotel in Atlantic City. Four policemen assigned to watch the hotel were suspended by Chief Aldridge pending an investigation after stolen goods were found in a boardwalk shanty used by some officers as a storage spot. Mayor Stoy will review the case.

The disputed ruling could raise costs by about 20 million dollars and limit labor on the canal.
