Alpha Tau Chapter attends theater show in Rockville
Alpha Tau Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi attended the Harlequin Dinner Theater in Rockville on March 27. They enjoyed the buffet and the musical Pirates of Penzance. In April they planned a Mount Airy Elementary PTA yard sale for May 14 selling craft items nachos and cheese and offering handwriting analysis. Beta Sigma Phi Founder’s Day celebrations were held at Sue Molesworth’s house with three Mount Airy chapters, opening ceremonies a dinner by the chapters and an evening of bridge and socializing. Alpha Tau welcomed new pledge Lenora Kish. Optional note on Mediterranean tech ambitions from National Geographic mentions Israel proposing a conduit between the Mediterranean and the Dead Sea, Egypt canal plans, and a Moroccan bridge project.

State employee union balks at pension task force allotment
ANNAPOLIS AP A decision to exclude state employee representatives from a pension study task force draws protest from the Maryland Classified Employees Association chief Joseph Adler. Gov Hughes says the panel will include lawmakers and the executive branch but not union leaders, citing too many different unions and interests. He also affirms support for Baltimore Mayor Schaefer, aims to name a new state prison head soon, and doubts federal funds will cover Baltimore Harbor dredging this year.
