Rezoning favored by Planning Commission amid annexation debate
The Planning Commission staff backed rezoning to a PUD, noting 1,080 potential living units vs 275 in Ausherman’s plan, and arguing nearby Amber Meadows and Clover developments justify the change. The Board of Education urged rejection due to school-site needs, yet staff believed future schools along Opossumtown Pike would handle growth. Carole Larsen voiced sympathy for Frederick but questioned annexation impact. Final vote 4-0 with abstention and absences. Also, commission approved flood insurance boundary changes for HUD program eligibility.
