No Decision About War

Washington May 11 top American military leaders say it is quite likely the Kremlin has not yet decided if war with the West is inevitable. The House Foreign Affairs Committee disclosed in a report on its foreign aid bill that attack decisions depend on whether such an attack would be advantageous to the Kremlin. The panel heard 43 witnesses and urged that Soviet aggression danger remains, with a continued Western defense buildup as deterrent. The report notes Soviets have not set a date, yet mobilized forces are ready. The bill trims military aid, outlining future deliveries including vessels, aircraft, tanks, and guns for global support.
