Police arrest Frederick pair in crack cocaine case
Two Frederick residents were arrested after a two week undercover probe at 200 Phobus Ave. Police found $1,219 in cash and small amounts of cocaine and paraphernalia. Jean L. Palmer, 59, faces conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and related charges. Kelvin Lin Jones, 33, faces multiple counts and is held on a $45,000 bond.

Three PG officers found guilty in beating case
In Upper Marlboro Maryland three Prince George's County officers John Warhurst Melvin Proctor and Donna Stuehmeier were convicted on misdemeanor assault and misconduct in office for beating burglary suspect Henry Gray who lay face down in custody after a Suitland pizza parlor arrest Oct 14. Judge Frank Kratovil indicated possible jail time but released them pending a pre sentence report. A fourth officer Kurt Godfrey faces trial June 14 and Kenneth Garland testified to reporting the incident.

Teen girls charged in Thurmont barn fire
Two 14 year old girls were charged Wednesday evening with setting fire to a barn in Thurmont at 30 Summit Ave. The blaze started about 2 p.m. and caused about $1000 in damages.
