Prisoners Recaptured After Campus Escape Bid
Three inmates escaped during a work detail on the University of Maryland campus near College Park and were recaptured after a chase. John L. Milligan Federalsburg Leach Baltimore and Charl es Brittingham Salisbury were returned to Maryland House of Corrections. Campus police stopped them as they swapped uniforms, pursued on U.S. 1 toward Beltway. Policemen fired at tires and the car window, ending the escape.
