Nineteen congregations in Frederick County will join the United Church of Christ after the merger of the Evangelical and Reformed and Congregational Christian churches at a Cleveland General Synod June 25 to 27. The union creates a church with more than 2 million members, preserving local church autonomy in property, ministers, and worship.
