Presbyterian Presbytery Meeting Sets Visit Arrangements

The Mr Vernon Ladies Assn regent from Marsland is Miss Emily Harper. In March visitors toured Mr Vernon estate which remains in excellent shape. To keep roads in repair the group expects to authorize significant spending next year. The mansion and vacancies on the board will be discussed in the coming days.

General Conference Debates Unity and Amendments

The second day of the J. B. Conference opened at 9:30 a.m. with Bishop Dickson of Pennsylvania presiding. Rev. Daniel Shuck of California led devotion as rules from four years ago were adopted and Dr. Bergstresser of Middletown spoke on church unity with Evangelical Lutheran leaders. A surprise motion by Rev. McKee of Ohio prompted discussion on a commissioners report from 1885, which proposed constitutional changes including an increase in delegates and removal of secret society restrictions. The amendments, ratified last November, are set for election next Monday.

Changes in B and O R R Spring Train Schedule

The B and O R R announces changes to its spring schedule effective tomorrow. Morning westbound 10.55 departs 11, 11.50 to Baltimore now at 12.05, and 2 pm westbound to 12.50. Martinsburg westbound at 3.20, 5.15 to Washington moved to 5.00, 11.15 from Washington and Philadelphia now 9.10, 11.15 from New York 11.30, 11.25 to Chicago now 12.45, 2.10 westbound instead of 3.20 from Washington at 3.40.
