13 Cuban refugees returned to Cuba amid protests
Miami reports say 13 Cuban boat people were returned to Cuba after the Clinton administration shifted policy ending 35 years of open arms. The men aged 28 to 45 were found on two wooden boats near the Cayman Islands and taken to Bahia de Cabanas. Cuban officials escorted them to a reception center near Havana airport as U S diplomats explained a new visa process allowing 20 000 Cuban arrivals yearly, while exile leaders called the move infamy.
