Montgomery launches dual summer job programs for youths
Montgomery County Executive James P. Gleason unveiled two initiatives to help youths find employment. Project 70001 targets 16 to 22 year olds for retail career skills with an $88,000 grant and aims to place about 75 youths in its first year. A separate Summer Youth Job program runs Friday at Montgomery Mall with a Job-A-Thon and a help desk at 8641 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, inviting employers to pledge jobs via 587-8510.
