Standard pay raises eyed for nine Maryland welfare workers

Drove Car After Refusal Of License Jailed

In a Police Court session Justice Water E Sinn un Pace Court, William T. Biser of near Bt Pleasant was found guilty of lending his auto operator's card to an unlicensed person Lester L. Miller. Miller, the license holder, received 30 days in jail for driving the car after a license refusal. Biser was fined 10 dollars and costs with the fine suspended on payment. State Police investigated the case, revealing Miller’s past with the Motor Vehicles office. Other defendants included Edgar Bell jailed 30 days for assault and battery, with a suspended fine on a separate fighting charge. Walter Hallman jailed five days for drunkenness, and Charles Broun John Wise both jailed two days for disturbing the peace. Lieut Blumenauer and Officer Dorsey led arrests. Further, Orville Stup forfeited 250 collateral for passing 2 Ted red light, and Eleanor Lyles forfeited 10 collateral.

Two Hurt In Motorcycle Wreck Near Jefferson

A motorcycle crash near Jefferson injures two riders. Roger Stottiemser, 25, suffers a crushed left leg, and Arlene Jay, 21, sustains injuries including possible arm damage. Both were taken to hospital by a passing motorist after losing control on the main road.
