Wally Jones the white hunter of Africa
HAL BOYLE profiles Wally Jones a 25 year old former Birmingham Alabama cub scout who became a professional white hunter in British East Africa. He led 15 safaris shot leopards elephants and worked as chemical adviser on the Columbia Pictures film Safari. He notes safaris pay about a dollar an hour with 16 hour days and clients paying about 100 a day. He hopes to settle on an African farm and marry someone in Africa while detailing life among hunters and the Mau Mau era.
