Hailey's Wheels miniseries to debut on NBC Sunday

NBC launches Hailey's Wheels a ten hour five part miniseries starring Lee Remick as Erica Trenton and Rock Hudson as a psychiatrist. Production rained out in parts with Remick describing Erica as rich lonely and conflicted. The adaptation from Arthur Hailey's novel blends soap opera themes with industrial intrigue and racial tensions. First episode at 9 p.m. EDT Sunday with follow up episodes Monday and Tuesday and again next Sunday and Monday.

IOOF Home Spring Party Highlights Photo Contest

IOOF home residents hosted a spring party with the theme Hooray for Spring at the Maryland Odd Fellows Home. The first annual Guess Who I Am photo contest crowned Leroy Remsberg as top prize with a three-way tie for second among Mrs. Mary Baker, Mrs. Dorothy Lumpkin and Mrs. Leota Howes. Multiple games produced winners including Ernest Baker, Joe Newcomer, Mrs. Mamie Harmeyer, Melvin Ramsburg, Mrs. Marie Jarvis, John Kolb, Luther Zimmerman, Mrs. Laura Crim, Mrs. Eva Milstead, Mrs. Bernice Hurley, Miss Ella Slough, Joseph Hobbs, and Miss Mary Hoffman. Future activities include a bus trip, picnics, and a scavenger hunt. plans for an auxiliary are being made, with Gary W. Bowles reachable at 682-3563. Waterfowl stat line notes yearly U.S. hunting figures.

Bloodmobile to Visit Maryland School for the Deaf on May 8

Red Cross Bloodmobile travels to the Maryland School for the Deaf on Monday May 8 to gather 100 pints. Donors may register from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the new gym on South Carroll Street and Mt. Olivet Boulevard. Walk-ins welcomed. bring donor records if available.

Flea Market and Auction Set for May at New Windsor Grounds

A flea market and auction will be held May 14 at the New Windsor Carnival Grounds starting 10 a.m. More than 25 dealers will attend and a sit down menu with fried chicken and funnel cakes will be served.
