Mother and Boy Friend Kill Two San Diego Boys
A mother Wanda Brogdon 33 and her unemployed companion Kenneth Merriam 36 confessed to officers they murdered her two young sons in the Laguna Mountains east of San Diego after bars. They strangled 7 year old David Wayne Brogdon and 3 year old Virgil Brogdon Jr with the 19 month old girl Cynthia unharmed. The pair drove the bodies to Merriam’s sister Margaret Schmitter’s home where Schmitter alerted deputies. Woman Leaps From Taxi Near Washington Hospitalized
A mentally upset woman from near Washington leaped from a taxi en route to Frederick Memorial Hospital and was found nearby. She was taken to the hospital for treatment and later her husband was taken to a Washington hospital. Police called her despondent and said she entered several Elm street houses before calling another cab. A three year old girl, Rose Marie Craver, daughter of Mrs. Doris Craver, was burned in an accident near Taney apartments and rushed to Frederick Memorial Hospital in satisfactory condition.
