The five remaining members of the Police Citizens Assessment Panel met at the police substation on North Market Street after Fran Baker resigned for time constraints. Patrick McKee said replacing her would delay re-education and hinder the panel’s mission. A public hearing on police community relations and alleged excessive force is set for 7 to 9 p.m. May 27 in City Hall board room, hosted by the county Human Relations Commission. Denise West and Charlene Edmonds commented on community concerns and accountability. Contact the assessment panel via the police advisory council at 301-631-3333.
