Light turnout expected in Frederick County presidential primary under cloudy skies. Republicans hoped for 36 percent of 11 690 registered voters while Democrats aimed for 25 percent of 14 543. Precinct counts near noon showed modest activity with 144 Democrats and 130 Republicans in four downtown precincts. Ballots quick to mark, officials reported smooth operation and mail ballots to Annapolis for servicemen will be counted after canvass.

Woman Hurt In Square Accident Struck By Auto
A 56 year old woman, Mrs Irma Zimmerman of Route J Myersville, is hospitalized with pelvis fractures after being struck by a eastbound 1950 Mercury coupe driven by John Honkala who said he was on his honeymoon. Honkala was charged with reckless driving and freed on $1 bond for a hearing in magistrate court. Officer George Crouse said Zimmerman crossed East Patrick Street against a red signal and was five feet from the curb when the collision occurred. She was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital by C E Cline ambulance.
