Church demands party action on prohibition at quadrennial meet
In Hansas City May 4 the Methodist Episcopal Church urged both major parties to pledge strict enforcement of the Eighteenth Amendment and national prohibition law in campaign platforms and to nominate leaders with records supporting enforcement. Five bishops were appointed to carry the resolution to party platform committees. Attendees included Ernest C. Cherrington of the Anti Saloon League and Charles C. Selecman of the Southern Methodist Union. The report also notes school attendance figures for Lime Kiln School and a line about hairdressers predicting eight month durable permanent ware.
