Council OKs new school in Poolesville
The Montgomery County Council voted a straw approval to build a smaller six to eight middle school in Poolesville on land set aside by the town. The plan aims to keep sixth graders with younger students separate from other campuses citing safety and routing concerns. The panel also approved funds for the Global Ecology Center at Poolesville Senior High and a second Damascus middle school, while delaying a Monocacy Elementary two room addition until September 1997 due to lower than expected enrollment.
