May Be Innocent Life Term for Janvis LaGuardia
Annapolis may 3 strong evidence exists that a man serving life for rape may be entirely innocent. A letter by Col Edwin P Swenson about Janvis LaGuardia was released at a legislative council meeting. LaGuardia, 30, of Youngstown Ohio, was convicted of raping a Baltimore County victim and sentenced to death. Delmar Foster of Atlanta got life, Gilmer P McArthur of Atlanta 21 years. Governor Lane commuted LaGuardia to life on Christmas Eve 1948. no decision yet pending a State Law Department report.
