Former City Hall sold to brewer on North Market Street

Frederick residents will see a $400,000 sale of the 17 year old former City Hall to Bowers Brewing Co. President Philip Bowers and Mayor Jim Grimes signed Tuesday with a 2 p.m. settlement. The brewpub plans include a 12 seat restaurant, a 24 seat patio, and a brewing operation licensed for up to 2,000 barrels annually. renovations aim for mid June opening. the project received a $500,000 state Neighborhood Business Development Program grant.

Garris Won't Take Stand In Towson Murder Trial

Plan for Sheetz project in Frederick approved with conditions

Frederick planners approved an eight point plan for a Rosemont Avenue Shookstown Road Sheetz gas station and convenience store after court actions. The conditions include Wilson Place extension access easement 30 feet wide a Rosemont signal deceleration lane a Shookstown right turn lane and funds escrow for Rosemont widening plus city rights of way.

County gets $1.75M more for school construction

Annapolis Frederick County to receive 1.75 million in state school construction aid, adding to January totals. The package funds Deer Crossing Elementary at Lake Linganore, Orchard Grove Elementary, Walkersville Middle renovations, and Middletown High science rooms. Governor led Board of Public Works approval as delegates pressed for Deer Crossing more funding. Montgomery County again led recipients with about 36 million total after today’s distribution.
