Mystery professor Crafton hid aliases and secret research for Navy
Professor Paul Arthur Crafton held multiple careers and faced criminal charges while secretly researching for 25 years with a government clearance. Navy spokesman Dennis Sawyer said he was cleared only to secret level and worked at the Naval Research Laboratory from 1944 to 1969, later consulting for the Naval Air Systems Command before retiring in 1970. He lives in Potomac Maryland and is now jailed, drawing a government pension based on salary.
