A series of local marriages unfolds around Brunswick and nearby towns. Miss Anns Mary Custer wed Burwell Bernard Beck at the Brunswick home of Lewis Shores with Rev. C Yeakel officiating, followed by a reception. Other nuptials include Miss Amelia McNulty to Joshua E Norris at St Josephs Church Emmitsburg, and unions of Wm H Runkles with Miss Fannie E Sparks, Elias Summers with Martha Jackson, Oscar Hood with Annie Braungartner, and Bill John Ohler to Elen J Olinger in Gettysburg.
Information on the death of Mrs Elizabeth Smith widow of Solomon Smith a Middletown resident occurred on the 13th at Polo. She died on her birthday aged 79 after an amputation of part of a foot. Funeral held on the 15th. Also Mrs Ann Harding died at 80 from paralysis at East Church Street residence. Funeral Monday at 10 in the Catholic graveyard. John N Tregelies elected president of Grafton school board. W G Sullivan becomes express agent at B and Q depot replacing Henry Sherman. Scott Vanfoasen not promoted.
