County mulls end to employee pay inequity in county government
Frederick County Commissioners directed personnel officials to draft recommendations for comprehensive reclassifications for secretaries and accountants. Mitch Hose must report back by Sept 1 with proposals to implement changes, following a salary study that found secretary pay far below neighboring counties and the school system. The study urged raising most secretaries by one pay grade, a move costing about 70000 dollars. The board also asked Hose to create a rotating four year reclassification policy, replacing the current biannual department driven process.
