Lunar base plan details from Westinghouse study
Westinghouse researchers outline a lunar outpost concept with a 300 kilowatt reactor style plant kept in a two square mile zone to limit radiation. A harsh environment is described with 1000 degree Fahrenheit heat, bulky suits, limited visibility, and a 500 foot high antenna for communications while uncertain surface gravity adds flight risks and debris concerns.
