Emmitsburg center to receive county funds for ADA updates
Frederick County Commissioners chose a $670 500 plan to remove lead paint and meet ADA standards at the Emmitsburg Community Center, rejecting a $2.4 million two thirds renovation. They may seek a grant covering about $335 150. The plan includes $72 000 design funds in 1996 and the rest in 1997. They still hope to pursue full renovations later. A separate $7 500 in 1996 funds would support a senior crime prevention program, with a $22 500 federal grant sought and a 25 percent county match, potentially starting July 1. Sheriff Jim Hagy noted.
