Marine corporal joins Palm Tree 4-78 desert exercise
Cpl Donald A Stoner son of Laura C Stoner of 21 Fo Main St Emmitsburg participated in Palm Tree 4-78 in the California desert. He serves as member of the 1st Battalion South Marines based at Camp Pendleton and conducted at Twentynine Palms. the exercise tested battalion landing team deployment and live-fire coordination among air and artillery support. A 1974 Saint Joseph High School graduate, he enlisted in March 1976. William E O Gwen of Wharton New Jersey has been appointed vice president finance for American Optical Corporation, overseeing all corporate financial activities.
