On the Edge film portrays a retired runner’s comeback and reckoning
Bruce Dern stars as a 44 year old ex Olympian who returns to Mill Valley to race the Dipsea. He clashes with a radical father a crusty coach and a promoter from his past while Rob Nilsson’s drama highlights amateurism hypocrisy and the thrill of long distance running. The film captures Mt Tamalpais grandeur and San Francisco Bay views with solid performances especially from Dern Marley and Bailey.
