17th annual coin show at West Frederick Junior High
The Catoctin Coin Club will host its 17th annual show in the West Frederick Junior High School gym on April 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and April 2 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. Admission and parking are free. Dealers will buy, sell and trade coins with hourly door prizes and a wooden-dollar gift for attendees. Grand prizes awarded Sunday at 5 p.m.

Maryland alcohol and tobacco tax receipts rise in February
February 1978 tax receipts from alcoholic beverages and tobacco in Maryland totaled 5.62 million dollars, up slightly from February 1977. Distilled spirits, beer, and wine each posted gains, while cigarette tax revenue fell compared with last year. For the eight months of fiscal year 1978, total receipts reached about 52.29 million, near last year’s 52.63 million, with spirits and wine up but beer and cigarettes down.
