Lively Fight by 6th Dist Democrats for Party Control
ROCKVILLE Md March 26 A lively Democratic congressional primary in the sixth district emerged with campaign attacks. Councilman J Graham Walker accused John Foley an Orphans Court judge candidate of being a tool of Lee and Caddington and their allies who he said seek to keep control of the party. Foley defended his independence since 1950 and denied endorsing endorsements, saying invective disqualifies him as a leader. Walker claimed Foley would not seek such endorsements if he aimed to run his own campaign. Foley countered that the charges were unfounded and irresponsible. The dispute centers on endorsements from precinct leaders and the Stevenson Foley Ty dings club led by Caddington.
