Dr Dennis Zembala of the Baltimore Museum of Industry spoke at Hood College on Frederick County trade and industrial history. The talk highlighted Frederick glassworks and forges, links to Baltimore's growth, and the rise and decline of mechanized glassmaking, ballooning the Knights of Labor influence and the shift after automatic glass blowing.
