19 Year Old Dies In U S 40 Crash
A 19 year old woman died and five others were injured when a car ran out of control crossed U S 40 West median struck guard rails and catapulted 75 feet into a stream before tumbling onto its top at 8 40 p m Thursday. Edna Nell McCutcheon of Baltimore was pronounced dead on arrival at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Mt Airy and Damascus ambulance crews transported the six victims.

Fire destroyed a small Hall Road house near Frederick last night with arson suspected by Fire Marshall Top E. Barnes Jr. No injuries reported. owner listed as William Buchanan of Ijamsville. Fire concentrated midhouse. about 50 firefighters, including independent and junior volunteers, battled the blaze until 10:48 p.m. The home, previously burned two years ago, stood unoccupied at the time.
