Delegates Back Bill to Give Rebates to Municipalities
Frederick County lawmakers backed a bill requiring the county to reimburse 12 municipalities for duplicative services such as police protection. The 5-3 vote by the delegation followed concerns from municipal leaders amid debates over the county’s rebate fund. The measure, awaiting action in the House Ways and Means Committee, faces potential hurdles from Delegate Joe Bartlett who warned he may oppose if not necessary.
