Maryland companies raised exports 7 percent to 584 billion last year led by Japan and Taiwan sales. Japan purchases climbed 57.2 percent to 515.7 million, while Taiwan jumped 563 percent to 221.4 million. Canada rose 56 percent to 1.25 billion. Egypt fell sharply as military shipments declined.
