Austin P Renn dies prominent farmer and local official
Mr. Austin P. Renn, 94, long time Frederick County farmer, served on state and county boards, aided public watchdog groups, placed his New Design Road farm in the Maryland Environmental Trust. He died March 23 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. His wife Lena Derr Renn preceded him in death in 1933. Born September 11, 1893, he grew up on Brooklawn Farm Ballenger District and attended Fengaville Elementary and Frederick Boys High School. He never sought office but held appointed posts including 10 years on the Maryland State Forests and Darks Commission and 2 years on the Frederick County Property Review Board. He helped organize Frederick Taxpayers Association, Fact Finders and Good Government Advocates. He was chief marshal and board member of the Frederick County Agricultural Safety. BoE delays vote on year round school plan
