Five Montgomery County homes reveal high lead in tap water
State health officials identify five new homes between Gaithersburg and Poolesville with lead levels in tap water ranging from ten to one hundred fifty times the federal safety standard. Ray Feldmann of the Office of Environmental Programs in Baltimore said the homes were tested last month after a television station queried the agency. The lead results arise from contaminated water sources.

Unowned Land in Md Appears Through Patents Probe
Maryland researchers Richard H. Richardson and Joe Brown III explored unowned land in Frederick County and beyond, noting many parcels lack patents and are challenging to prove ownership. The investigation, tied to The Sheep Pasture, spurred patent actions for three tracts, with state interest in selling for tax rolls. A Navy Band concert at Middletown High supported by Sea Chanters and Middletown students followed.
