Two Local Men Collect Historic Maryland License Plates
Ray Frank and Jack Crum, longtime collectors, have built a 6000 strong Maryland and multi state license plate collection in Frank’s basement, with 15,000 duplicates in boxes. They trace plate history from 1900s leather and tin plates to modern aluminum tags, sharing anecdotes about early regulation, state variations, and notable examples from Alaska to Nepal.
