Families build own homes with county grant in Brunswick
Twenty low income families will own homes in Brunswick with a $114000 county grant to Western Maryland Interfaith Housing Development Corp. The project, starting with five self built homes, targets households at or below 60 percent of the county median income. Each home costs about 80000 with fees covered by the grant. Mortgage terms run thirty three to thirty eight years at one percent.
