County association learns about learning disabilities
At the February Frederick County Association for Children with Learning Disabilities a teacher Grace Campbell from Woodsboro led a workshop to let attendees experience the challenges of a learning disabled child. Assisted by Carol Markley, she demonstrated listening gaps, auditory tracking, spelling difficulties, and visual versus verbal understanding through exercises. The session highlighted frustration and misinterpretation that can occur when only part of a message is received, noting how even normal children struggle with irregular spellings and letter recognition. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday March 28. Local Allstate Roanoke office named top producers for 1977. Frederick agent Dottie VanDeventer earns Honor Ring Conference by meeting sales and persistency targets.
