MSC Gives Go-Ahead To New Sewage Plant
The Metropolitan Sanitary Commission authorized design of a six million gallon per day sewage plant at the Monocacy River confluence for Frederick area suburbs and the city. Estimated total costs reach about 5.245 million for suburbs alone and 5.868 million for city plus suburbs, with operation slated 4 to 6 years out. The plan urges joint city county treatment, but a project will proceed even if cooperation fails, while the city weighs details with Mayor Magaha amid capacity pressures and future expansion.
