Hit and run driver sought after Middletown man injured
State police seek the identity of a westbound hit and run driver who struck and severely injured 60 year old William Younkins near Bolivar while he walked along the state highway near Garfield Tone residence west of Middletown on Saturday evening. Younkins was returning home from Middletown and walked on the road's left side. The vehicle was traveling west.

Magazine Writer Stabbed to Death in New Orleans Club
John Irving Fluerce, a 23 year old magazine writer and university student, was stabbed to death while seated at the Nut Club in New Orleans. A 23 year old former newspaper woman, Marian King, was held without charge as the suspected assailant. Police say she admitted stabbing Pierce after quarrels but claimed it was a personal matter. Authorities released two letters found at the scene that may shed light on the motive, one from Annapolis signed Frank and another from Pierce expressing love and a plea to return.

In Circuit Court Thursday Chief Judge Hammond Urner signed an order allowing John J. Ghingher as receiver for Central Trust Company to enter a $12,435 credit on the decree for stockholders mobility held against Emory L. Coblentz, president of the bank. The Peoples Liquidating Corporation consented to the passage, with the sum to be turned over to it. The decree against Coblentz totaled $63,780 for double liability on Central Trust stock. The liquidation company has received a $7,000 Middletown home deed and $1,230 cash from personal property sales. Remaining assets include a $2,425 mortgage on a Brad dock Heights property owned by J. Fred Main, $1,500 face value of Frendenck Hotel Company debentures, and $280 in cash.

Buzz Harmison Dead in Baltimore Obituary
