Utilities discuss rate delays and future energy trends
Pepco and Delmarva executives cite regulatory lag and heavy paperwork in rate cases, cautioning that delayed decisions hinder fair returns. They foresee more co generation and coal or nuclear shifts, noting shared plants can cut costs, with Pisces Dickerson plant example and a joint 900 MW project with Vepco facing partner withdrawal. The remarks closed a three day Energy Symposium for the Media.
